VPRI and SPARC, guided by a group of Faculty ADRs and faculty researchers who participate on CIHR peer review committees, are undertaking a Spring 2026 internal consultation process composed of a virtual townhall and an online survey. The goal is to generate a UBC response to CIHR's proposed Project Grant peer review changes to address increased application pressure against the reality of a flat funding base, informed by the perspectives of the UBC health research community.

The townhall will be held on Zoom on Friday, May 29, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the survey available as of Monday, June 1.
