Workshop on Funding SSH Partnerships: Jan. 15
January 15, 2019, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Funding Partnerships in the Social Sciences and Humanities
Join us on Tuesday, January 15, for a workshop focused on SSHRC’s Partnership Engage Grant (PEG), featuring a recent awardee and two development specialists. Following these presentations, SPARC will present an overview of the PEG application with advice that can be applied across SSHRC proposals.
The SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant funds collaboration with a single, non-academic partner organization and has four deadlines annually. In the September 2018 application cycle, six out of eight UBC applicants (75%) were awarded PEGs, compared with a national average of 58%. Awardees across campus have leveraged these $7-25K grants for subsequent SSHRC proposals as well as Mitacs and external funding. Given the PEG’s high success rates and the diversity of projects that have been funded, researchers interested in partnerships across the Social Sciences and Humanities are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
