New and updated SPARC Tri-agency CV resources for CIHR applications

July 28, 2025

As you may know, CIHR is now using the narrative-style Tri-agency CV (TCV) in some of its competitions, per an April 7, 2025 announcement. To determine if the TCV is required for a particular CIHR competition, please check the yellow "Notices" box at the top of the ResearchNet Funding Opportunity Details webpage.

To confirm, the TCV is not being used for the Fall 2025 Project Grant competition.

To support UBC applicants in developing TCVs, we currently have two resources:

  1. The SPARC-annotated CIHR Tri-agency CV Template (updated on July 23, 2025), to provide all key instructions in one place; and
  2. The Tri-agency CV Best Practices, informed by a series of consultations with UBC researchers working on their own first-time TCVs.

Please visit SPARC's CWL-protected CIHR Resources webpage to access these resources. Scroll to "CIHR Operating, Team and Large Network, and Other Grants," and then look for "Tri-agency CV Resources (updated July 23, 2025)."
