CIHR Call for Interest: Membership on Standing Committee on Science

CIHR has launched a Call for Interest for membership on its Standing Committee on Science (SCS). The mandate of the SCS, a committee of CIHR’s Governing Council, is to identify and advise on opportunities and risks in consideration of CIHR’s strategic directions, and new horizons in health research and its impact through the analysis of global and national trends in the research and related policy ecosystem. 

Competencies:

  1. Strategic and analytical thinking
  2. Research and scientific expertise
  3. Governance and organizational expertise
  4. Leadership and collaboration

Interested individuals should submit the following documents to governance-gouvernance@cihr-irsc.gc.ca by September 19, 2025:

  • A letter of interest (maximum 1000 words) detailing your qualifications, expertise, and the perspective you would bring against the competency criteria above.
  • A curriculum vitae.
  • A completed self-identification questionnaire (to be completed upon application submission).

The term begins on December 15, 2025, for three years, with the possibility of renewal for a second term.
