NSERC Strategic Partnership Grants for Projects: Internal Review

Event Date: Monday, March 06, 2017

SPARC is currently accepting registrations for the Internal Review process for the 2017 NSERC Strategic Partnership Grants for Projects (SPG) Competition [full details and deadlines below].

Please note: Only successful Letter of Intent (LOI) applicants (announced April 1st) are permitted to submit SPG full applications.

This year's Internal Review (IR) registration deadline is: Friday, April 21, 2017. Those interested in participating in this voluntary IR process are asked to please register by this date.

An IR by an expert faculty reviewer will be offered to those who can submit a well-developed draft of their SPG full application by: Friday, May 5, 2017, at 5pm.

Note that any researchers failing to register and/or submit all of the required IR documents by the above deadlines, will be ineligible for the IR process. Also, IR requests will be treated on a first-come, first-serve basis, and registering for IR does not guarantee an appropriate reviewer will be found for every SPG application.

You can register for an IR of your SPG full application by sending an email to David.Woods@ubc.ca, in the SPARC Office. In this email, please provide the following details:

  • Your name, Email address, Department, list of Co-applicants
  • Title of your SPG grant, your professor rank (Asst. Prof., Assoc. Prof., etc.)
  • Any faculty who you would prefer NOT to review your grant
  • Indicate if this submission for SPG funding is a new application or re-application
  • Brief summary of the research project (~1/2 page)
  • SPG Target Area (and relevant Research Topic(s) [sub-Target Area(s)])

IR feedback will be returned to the SPG applicant by: May 19, 2017.

Please note the final NSERC deadline for SPG full applications is: June 7, 2017.

Alternatively, any UBC researchers who are interested in receiving a Detailed Review of their well-developed draft SPG full application by SPARC, please contact David Woods (david.woods@ubc.ca) [these requests will be dealt with on a first-come/first-served basis].

Also, please forward any other questions/concerns you may have regarding the SPG program, or the SPG IR process, to David Woods.
